After creating a 3D wooden, abstract shaped model, I took a view finder and placed it against a section of the wooden model. I carried out a graphite drawing of the chosen section to achieve the image above. My techniques consisted of using the graphite stick in different ways and using a rubber too, to express the texture of the wood and to show the wood markings. Graphite is a good source of material as you can use it in many ways, for example; as normal, like you would use a pen, on its side and you can even scrape it into grains and then smudge it. Using graphite in all these different ways will produce a different outcome.
